Position Title:Accounts Payable Clerk II

Job Description:

The Accounting Clerk II performs moderately complex clerical accounting duties, requiring a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and public agency accounting procedures. This position requires a moderate degree of independent judgment.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews vendor invoices for proper approval, including PO approval authority and supporting documentation;
  • Enters accounts payable invoices into the accounting software, HMS, verifying past and current amounts due;
  • Reviews, verifies, and corrects weekly invoices batches and check runs in several checking accounts;
  • Prepares check runs for the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher and Housing Stabilization programs;
  • Maintains efficient filing systems;
  • Assists with the preparation of 1099 forms for annual submission;
  • May train and give general direction to other employees;
  • Assists with audit requests;
  • Performs related work as required.

Requirements:

  • Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged.
  • In this position, we are looking for a minimum ofa high school diploma or equivalent and four years of clerical accounting or bookkeeping experience.
  • A high school diploma, or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in clerical accounting or bookkeeping
