Position Title: Flood and Coastal Risk Management Officer

Job Description:

Flooding represents a crucial challenge both now and into the future as the impacts of climate change become apparent. As a Flood and Coastal Risk Management Officer, you will be helping to protect people and property from flooding.

Responsibilities:

  • Flood Map Evidence Based Reviews.
  • Managing and maintaining our existing flood risk mapping and spatial data.
  • Supporting the development of new flood risk models.
  • Updating Environment Agency Flood Risk products available online.
  • Contributing to National projects to improve our understanding of flood risk.
  • Flood Incident Response.

Requirements:

  • Relevant degree/professional qualification.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Good organisational skills, and ability to work on own initiative within a team to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Problem solving ability using an intelligent, methodical approach.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of FCRM data, river modelling and/or flood mapping, GIS or a related subject.
  • Ability to conceive and deliver work by planning, gathering and maintaining data/information.
