Job Description:

Provides custodial services to buildings and facilities of the Augusta Regional Airport within the guidelines of supervisory instructions, standing or special work orders, federal and state laws and regulations, and airport policies and procedures. Reports to Airport Custodial Maintenance Supervisor or other designated person and works with co-workers and the general public to provide maintenance support.

Responsibilities:

  • Vacuums all carpeted areas, and cleans and maintains terrazzo floors.
  • Cleans and disinfects interiors walls, windows, and furniture of airport buildings and facilities.
  • Performs routine custodial tasks (to include but not limited to emptying trash, dusting, sweeping, and mopping) for all buildings and facilities of the airport.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
  • Cleans, deodorizes, and disinfects restrooms: cleans mirrors, toilets, urinals, sinks, and other areas; and replenishes soap products and paper products as needed.
  • Responsible for cleanliness, upkeep, and environment services in multiple dispersed buildings, including aircraft hangars and their adjacent offices.
  • Assisting the general public.
  • Utilizes precautionary safety equipment and monitors work environment to ensure safety of employees and other individuals. May occasionally be assigned to support other facilities maintenance sections as needed.
  • Responds to staff call up in emergency situations.
  • Does comprehensive cleaning and maintains restrooms in terminal buildings.
  • Provides customer service support.

Requirements:

  • Must be available on –call and after hours to support special events, projects and/or respond to Airport emergencies.
  • Ability to respond to staff call up in an emergency situation.
  • Must pass and maintain required TSA Criminal History Record Check and Security Threat Assessment.
  • Ability to understand protocols and procedures assessment associated with the TSA and FAA as well as pass testing and challenges pertaining to those protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the TSA and FAA.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers regarding various general and way finding information.
