Job Description:

To Lead Sales and Customer Solutions Team under Digital & Innovation to develop new digital products and solutions for B2B customer by using the power of IoT, data analytics, machine learning, blockchain like technologies.
Some of the solutions are marketplaces, customer portals, new digital product offerings as well as data analytics solutions for customer insights, optimization solutions with statistical models and machine learning algorithms.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Digital & Innovation Lead on the development of the Digital and Innovation Strategy in Sales and Customer Solutions Area by developing a deep understanding of Marketing BU Strategy, advancements in data science and data analytics and IoT technologies.
  • Explore new innovative opportunities, new digital products and business models as well as finding new opportunities by automating the existing business model in Marketing BU. Use the power of digital technologies and data science which would create a competitive advantage for Marketing BU.
  • Own solution landscape in his/ her respective area and coherently extend the digital solution portfolio.
  • Follow advancements in global megatrends and explore ideas how to use them in developing new digital products.
  • Prioritize and deliver a portfolio of project to create incremental financial value for related commodity desks every year.
  • Form Agile Project Teams to deliver solutions. Assign and guide project managers with a clear product vision. Work with Lead Data Scientist and Technology lead to resource project teams.
  • Work closely with Digital & Innovation project teams and other stakeholders from across the Marketing Business Unit but especially with the front office traders and sales managers to understand the question that they are trying to address to unlock value by making key marketing decisions. Relevant domains; Trading, Sales, Customer Interaction, Supply Chain Optimization, Shipping and Freight Trading, Risk Management, Finance etc.
  • Assist business in designing data capture / experimental setups for exploratory work, or changes in process / data capture in existing systems.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis, using Python, and provide rapid iterations of analysis to refine posed problems, and identify potential solutions. Maximize insight into a data set; uncover underlying structure; extract important variables; detect outliers and anomalies; test underlying assumptions; develop parsimonious models; and determine optimal factor settings.
  • Develop mathematical and statistical models/ algorithms and/or machine learning algorithms to analyze data and address business decisions.
  • Work with commercial business stakeholders on reporting results from analytics tools and improve the models. Relate the results with the financial performance of the desk and suggest improvement areas.
  • Ensure that solutions are aligned to group standards (including Anglo American Security and Operating Standards).
  • Work with and support IM and business in architecture of data warehousing and data-lake as required.
  • Align delivery of the solutions and analysis according to Agile and Lean methodologies.
  • Research industry trends and identify industry best practices to further progress and develop digital best practice within the Marketing BU.
  • Leverage learnings from across relevant team and contribute the development of a high calibre data science capability.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Technology/Business or Statistics qualification.
  • Agile methodology certification.
  • Deep knowledge in Commodities markets or trading and B2B customer sector via digital products/ channels.
  • Customer interaction and Customer Journey.
  • Experience in using data analytics in customers (B2B) area.
  • Experience on various technologies and skill to select one which fits to the problem best.
  • Extensive Digital Product design and development experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Design Thinking.
  • Blockchain experience.
