Position Title: Solutions Analyst

Job Description:

This role would suit either someone from a computer science / engineering background keen to understand Buying and Merchandising or someone from a B&M or retailing background who is keen to transition into a more technical developer role.

Responsibilities:

  • Your role as a Solution Analyst will focus on configuration and development of technology solutions working across the full Software Development Lifecycle in an agile team.
  • Work with Business Analysts and end users to understand the needs and value to be delivered on new initiatives
  • Configure/develop the application to incrementally and rapidly deliver value
  • Work alongside testers to ensure the solution has effective coverage through automation
  • Support the release process and provide post go live support
  • Ensure service levels are met with regard to batch and on-line performance
  • Triage user requests / issues to produce a detailed response and resolution
  • Understand and provide impact analysis of proposed functional changes both in technical and process terms
  • Identify and help deliver improvements to the team process with a focus on improving flow and quality

Requirements:

  • Experience in configuring or delivering software in an iterative, continuous delivery environment that ships value frequently
  • Excellent communicator, mentor and negotiator
  • Good understanding or keen interest in learning Merchandise Planning Processes (Financial & Assortment Planning, Product Lifecycle Management)
  • Understand typical system landscape of a large retail organisation and dependencies on planning systems
  • Understanding of agile testing frameworks, providing assurance on complex integrated systems
  • Experience with administrating or configuring Merchandise Planning applications
  • A history of working with one or more of these languages: C#, Java, Python, Bash or PowerShell
  • Good knowledge of Azure or transferable knowledge from AWS or similar
  • Experience of Oracle Databases, Oracle RPAS or PLM systems (e.g. Centric8)
  • Experience of Linux
