Position Title:ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PLANNER

Job Description:
We are accepting applications for the position of Assistant/Associate Planner. There are currently multiple vacancies that the City is looking to fill immediately. The Assistant/Associate Planner performs responsible professional planning work involving land use planning, environmental analysis, and/or historic preservation. In addition, the position performs planning work with design review, public policy and ordinance development, economic development, green technology in economic development, and CDBG/HOME program implementation or other related areas.
Responsibilities:
- When assigned to Sailing/Kayaking/Stand-up Paddle Boarding programs, CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
- Depending on assignment, possession of a valid California Class C driver license may be required.
- If the position requires driving a mini-bus or van, a valid California Class B license, with passenger endorsement and the allowable auto transmission and air brake restrictions, must be obtained within six months of employment.
- If the position requires driving a mini-bus or van, drug-testing is required, according to the
- Department of Transportation (DOT).
