Responsibilities:

  • Contracted hours cover a two-week rota between 8.45 am and 7 pm including Saturday working. The post holders will also occasionally need to be able to work at other library locations within the Bradford district, often at short notice.
  • Supporting customers with computer use and learning needs.
  • The post supports operational delivery of the service and the national Universal Library Offers which include Reading, Health and Wellbeing, Digital and Information and Culture and Creativity. Key tasks include:=
    a car unless a disability prevents this.environment with a diverse range of customers, offering them a wide variety of services, events and activities.
  • Delivering children’s, family and adult activities, including story times and rhyme times, reading groups etc.

Requirements:

  • Undertaking administrative tasks as required to ensure the smooth running of the service.
  • Accessing the library management system and complying with the Council’s information security protocols.
  • Supporting customers to find books and information and to issue/return using the self-service kiosk.
  • Supporting safety on site including fire evacuation procedures.
  • Positively using electronic stock management tools.
  • Opening and locking up the building and operating the alarm system.
