Position Title: Data Protection Officer

Job Description:

In line with Article 39 of GDPR, the job holder will be responsible for taking active and visible leadership to support and promote a positive Data Protection culture within the inquiry. They will have specific responsibilities for:

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering mandatory data protection training and ensuring awareness procedures are in place and monitor that all staff are appropriately trained and updated as necessary.</li>
  • Responsible for the Cyber Security governance and practice within the Inquiry and working with a supplier to ensure that cyber risks and issues are identified and appropriate remediation plans put in place and reported on to senior management.</li>
  • Work with business areas to ensure appropriate cyber security expertise is provided for business and IT projects and change.</li>
  • Investigating, or supporting the investigation of cyber security incidents alongside our technical colleagues and contractors.</li>

Requirements:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to secure the delivery of the Government’s levelling up ambition, right at the heart of government.
  • As Mission Lead, the successful candidate will lead the Levelling Up team in the No10 Delivery Unit to support departments and delivery partners on successful delivery and embedding of the commitments in the Levelling Up White Paper.
  • They will work with the Head of the No10 Delivery Unit to build robust networks at the most senior levels in departments and amongst the network of top local leaders to monitor and support delivery, as well as strengthening the focus on delivery at the centre of government.
