Job Description:

The successful candidate will be a key member of 10DU’s Senior Leadership Team and the Senior Civil Service cadre in 10 Downing Street, contributing to the corporate functions of the Unit. Currently 10DU comprises around 30 staff, including six senior civil servants. The successful candidate will be a strong and respected leader, able to work collegiately and collaboratively with all.

Responsibilities:

  • (Metadata) You understand a variety of meta/reference data management tools. You can design and maintain the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the organisation to understand their data assets.
  • (Data standards) You can develop and implement standards for an organisation. You can work effectively with other subject matter experts in the and data management best practises in areas such as information security, data anonymisation and/or data privacy.(Data Innovation).
  • You recognise and exploit business opportunities to ensure more efficient and effective performance of organisations. You explore new ways of conducting business and organisational processes, this will include appropriate approaches for data integration and migration including use of external data sets.
  • (Data design) You can create optimal designs through iterative processes, aligning user needs with organisational objectives and system requirements.

Requirements:

  • This is an exciting opportunity to secure the delivery of the Government’s levelling up ambition, right at the heart of government.
  • As Mission Lead, the successful candidate will lead the Levelling Up team in the No10 Delivery Unit to support departments and delivery partners on successful delivery and embedding of the commitments in the Levelling Up White Paper.
  • They will work with the Head of the No10 Delivery Unit to build robust networks at the most senior levels in departments and amongst the network of top local leaders to monitor and support delivery, as well as strengthening the focus on delivery at the centre of government.
