Position Title:Capacity Building Program Coordinator

Job Description:

Under general direction, is responsible to provide project execution and management, data analysis, communications, and the development of capacity-building programs to include outreach and education.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the development and management of the program, including developing program metrics, standard operating procedures, internal and external communications, and data/reporting standards for the program
  • Collaborates with local business resources to assess local business capacity and suitability for government and private sector contracting and connecting those clients with possible markets and opportunities
  • Develops, maintains, and expands partnerships with federal, state, and local government agencies, prime contractors, trade associations, business resource providers throughout the region, to promote bid and subcontracting/sub supplier/ sub consultant opportunities to local business concerns including SMWBEs
  • Participates on various committees and/or teams engaged in program development, planning or outreach and will represent the program in class sessions, program event or other related events as necessary
  • Identifies and develops program resources that will offer ongoing support to participants to include; networking, business counseling, government registry, contract education, and other educational resources
  • Develops, plans and organizes all program events, to include training, class management, seminars and/or conferences

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field, and three (3) years’ experience in government contracting, procurement management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good knowledge of government capacity building programs, contracting policies, and local procurement efforts
  • Skill in contract management, market analysis, interpreting contract language; statistical analysis; skill in leading project teams; skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously; ability to develop effective communication tools to disseminate information; ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing; ability to analyze data and prepare reports; ability to work as part of a team, as well as independently; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, Elected/Appointed Officials, Department/Division Heads, County employees, government agencies, external organizations and the public
