Position Title:Compensation Analyst

Job Description:
Under general direction, is responsible for analyzing, developing, and administering the compensation program for all roles at Columbus City Schools; performs related duties as required.
Responsibilities:
- Designs, develops, and administers the District’s employee compensation plans, salary structures, and administrative guidelines ensuring compliance with related legal requirements;
- Monitors competitiveness of the compensation schedules on both an external and internal basis; recommends changes to current schedules as appropriate within approved budget parameters;
- Monitors costs of compensation and evaluation program and continuously strives to improve their effectiveness and efficiency;
- Reviews or determines appropriate pay level for new hires, promotions, and demotions to ensure pay assignment is in accordance with compensation guidelines and policies;
- Conducts job audits for non-Civil Service Commission roles which may include interviews, in-person observations, surveys, etc.;
- Reviews, standardizes, and streamlines compensation and performance evaluation practices; develops metrics to track and report recruiting and staffing effectiveness;
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree
- Four (4) years of compensation experience including job evaluation and market pricing.
- Substitution(s): A master’s degree in public administration, business administration, human resources, or another closely related field may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience.
- Certification awarded by WorldatWork as a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
