Job Description:

The Clark County Parks & Recreation department is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the (position Curator of Exhibits position. This position designs, constructs and prepares exhibits for display at various museum sites; assists in the preservation and restoration of various artifacts

Responsibilities:

• Researches and designs exhibits for presentation at various locations and facilities throughout the County.
• Confers with the Museum Administrator, other museum staff and appropriate parties throughout the community to ensure the authenticity and accuracy of the exhibit. Assists in the acquisition, preservation and restoration of artifacts; ensures that such items are properly stored, transported, inventoried and protected during display.
• Determines items needed to fabricate exhibits; researches vendors and other methods of material acquisition; prepares purchase requisitions and follows-up to ensure the proper delivery of required materials.
• Prepares or obtains artwork, graphics, informational text and other materials required to complete specific exhibits; fabricates special design elements, determines lighting elements and ensures that all exhibit elements are available for the creation of educational and atheistically pleasing displays.

Requirements:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in History, Archeology, Museum Studies or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of full-time experience in building exhibits, or developing other visual presentations in a museum setting. ]
• Additional experience as described may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two (2) years.
