Position Title: Distribution Mapping Supervisor

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to engineers and crews in using maps and related records.
  • Provide status reports to the GIS Manager as required.
  • Exhibit professional behavior in interactions with other City employees and the public; work as a team member to maintain a respectful, courteous work environment.
  • Supervises the performance of complex computer-aided drafting and preparation of maps, plans, revisions, schematics and drawings of the electrical features of varied facilities such as distribution, transmission and street lighting systems.
  • Performs field visits to work sites to check progress and respond to inquiries and problems from crews and contractors.
  • Supervises the completion of map work orders, conversion work orders and map corrections.
  • Supervises the reproduction of maps, feeder maps or other documents needed for project.
  • Supervises the preparation, maintenance, and revision of records, maps, programs and schedules.
  • Attends pre-construction conferences to determine project schedules and requirements.
  • Assists and reviews work of subordinates. Provides training as required. Participates in the selection, hiring and performance appraisal of subordinates, and performs other personnel/administrative tasks.
  • Reviews agreements with consultants and other cooperating agencies.
  • Acts as interdivisional liaison for coordinating the phases of designing, planning and preparation of project details.
  • Serves on committees concerned with standardization and improvement of specifications, materials, methods and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties of comparable level/type as assigned.
  • Provide data and other related information for Grid Modernization.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience supervisor and leadership experience with a team of 6 or more.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mapping.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of Computer skills such as Esri products, AutoCAD Map, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience of increasingly complex work with electrical distribution systems
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Experience with performance evaluations and providing feedback to employees as it pertains to performance and accountability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with overlapping deadlines by using strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge and experience with ESRI AGOL and Portal solutions, including web map development and configuration.
