Job Description:

The RNRU is a Level 1b unit in London supporting patients with complex cognitive and/or complex physical disability. Our specialist multi-disciplinary team consists of neuro specialist nurses, Neuro Rehabilitation Consultants; and a Neuro AHP Consultant leads our therapy team of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Dieticians and Rehabilitation Assistants. Colleagues from Social Work, Clinical Neuropsychologists, Psychotherapy and Leisure Coordinator make up our team. We work closely together to provide a high quality, client-centred, goal focused, efficient, responsive and intensive service for our service users & families

Responsibilities:

  • Approachable team player, this is a small team who support each other to get the job done, we’re looking for an individual who fits with this culture
  • An ability to work independently and manage time effectively while working to deadlines
  • Strong skills in network design and documentation
  • Experienced configuring and managing switches, routers, wireless, firewalls, IPS, NAC, NMS devices across physical, virtual and cloud estates
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior engineers
  • Flexible approach to working hours with some projects requiring out of hours work to minimise disruption in a 24/7 healthcare environment, participation in an on call team rota

Requirements:

  • The post holder will have a strong drive for working collaboratively as part of an excellent team, and deliver high quality clinical interventions to adults with acquired brain injury.
  • As a band 6 on the team, you will actively contribute to patient care, provide specialist rehabilitation and use your OT skills to support the discharge process.
  • Alongside this, you will contribute to profession specific and multidisciplinary service improvement initiatives and will supervise, support and develop junior staff.
  • We will work alongside you to support your clinical and professional development needs.
  • Clinical skills are translated to capacity assessments and risk management for supporting discharge for this complex client group.
  • The RNRU OT team includes two band 7’s, 3 band 6’s and a band 5 which offers peer support.
  • Team leadership is offered by the B8a clinical specialist OT, who offers joint sessions, training and opportunities for collaborative learning.
