Job Description:

Plymouth City Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and hard-working Business Administration Apprentice to work in the Registration and Coroner Service. This role provides an opportunity to develop invaluable skills that will be transferable throughout your working life, building on your existing communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

  • This is a customer-facing role and you will be responsible for delivering an excellent service for customer enquiries and high quality administrative support to the Registration Service and Senior Coroner.
  • The successful candidate will be handling and processing manual and electronic information where accuracy, confidentiality and security are vital.
  • The  tasks you will undertake include reception duties,  producing birth, marriage & death certificates, booking appointments, filing, processing Coroner’s notifications and scanning/creating legal bundles.

Requirements:

  • The successful candidate will be given protected time to complete their NVQ assignments and internal training courses.
  • Essential skills include previous administrative experience, the ability to use your own initiative, organisation and communication skills and a strong sense of customer service.
