Position Title: Principal Tester

  • As the IT Principal Tester, you will Lead our team of test engineers and analysts with accountability for delivering high-quality test execution activities in a timely, cost-effective and compliant manner.
  • Working closely with operations teams, project teams, and business stakeholders to plan, execute, monitor, and control the testing work for all approved projects across functional, non-functional and User Acceptance testing activities.


  • The ability to inspire others across a community of practice, engendering open feedback an continual improvement
  • An understanding of how modern test automation techniques and frameworks can be applied
  • Detailed knowledge of modern test management and ALM tooling (e.g. Jira, Zephyr, Azure DevOps, MTM etc)
  • The ability to lead and direct functional, non-functional and E2E testing activities across a portfolio and / programme of change with colleagues both within and outside of IT
  • Experience working with technical specialists and 3rd party suppliers to define, deliver and manage multiple non-production environments along with the associated test data sets
  • Excellent Leadership skills with the ability to inspire and coordinate teams building a positive team climate.
