Job Description:

We are seeking to appoint two locum Consultant Community Paediatricians pending advertisement of substantive posts. This is a full time post, with no on-call commitment but we would welcome applications from those wishing to work less than full time, or job share working. These are replacement posts following relocation and retirement of current consultants. You will join a team of community paediatricians across the South Northamptonshire.

Responsibilities:

• This post offers opportunities for you to develop and expand a wide range of clinical services covering all aspects of community paediatrics including neurodisability, child protection, development and behavioural paediatrics.
• You will be responsible for provision of community paediatric services to a geographical patch in or around Northampton, including assessments within the Child Development Centre.
• You will play a lead role in providing paediatric care for children in a special school for children with severe learning difficulties.
• You will also join a consultant of the week rota for safeguarding children (Monday – Friday).

• You must have appropriate UK professional registration..
• A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
• To be reliable as you will be an important part of a small team. Your colleagues and customers will depend upon to do your best on each shift and not let the team down.
• A bit of flexibility when it comes to your shifts. When other members of your team are off enjoying their holidays, we may need you to work slightly different hours to cover for them. Rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and your commitments outside
