Position Title: Buyer’s Admin Assistant

Job Description

We are currently looking for a Buying Admin Assistant to join our Upholstery Furniture category. The role will require travel to our Store Support Centre in Avebury, Milton Keynes, but will also have a mix of home working.

The role of a Buying Admin Assistant is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Buying team, ensuring that tasks are undertaken accurately and to company timescales to drive overall performance in the business unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement tactical marketing and digital activity
  • Ensure that Promotional and Pricing administration is completed efficiently and effectively on behalf of the trading team
  • Liaise with suppliers to chase samples and key information
  • Conduct competitor shop reports and feedback to team
  • Confirm product detail and administration post sign off to suppliers in line with the critical path
  • Work cross functionally with Digital, Marketing and Suppliers to enhance our digital execution to maximise sales, margin and supplier funding. Supports and has input into the delivery of digital marketing plans in conjunction with suppliers and digital teams
  • Support sample management as appropriate to the needs of the department, (in some cases, supporting C2 sample co-ordinator)
  • Support tracking assurance of legal compliance against competition law
  • Investigate product set up data (freight, duty, dimensions) for any margin queries
  • Engage with internal and external colleagues to deliver promotional and range plans, tracking short term objectives and milestones
  • Adhere to buying milestones within the critical path to ensure on time launches and feedback as appropriate to team
  • Contribution to the team objective of achieving optimum cost and well managed supplier income through effective negotiation and supplier management
  • Supports the team with broader administrative support for supplier management and onboarding
  • Prepare approvals for Senior Buyer/Buyer/Assistant Buyer and send to supplier
  • Review competitor pricing and make recommendations to maintain our competitive position. Support trend analysis
  • Create category SKUs and maintain data integrity in line with company targets

Requirements:

  • Commercial acumen and an understanding of the financial implications of decision making
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Excel and Word
  • Knowledge of business principles and core values
