Position Title: Category Manager

Job Description:

The Category Manager’s tasks will consist of evaluating specifications, making sure they’re fit for purpose, reviewing demand management, processes, gathering market intelligence for innovation, leading sourcing projects, challenging existing contracts and ensuring value for money is being achieved.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead tender processes
  • Champion and increase awareness of Procurement best practices and facilitate change throughout the business.
  • Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders across the business
  • Establish project charter, timelines, and milestones, and ensure the project team delivers against these objectives
  • Identify opportunities to deliver value within the facility management, property and infrastructure
  • category through sourcing, specification rationalisation, demand management
  • Act as point of contact for category expertise across Eurostar
  • Develop a strategic category plan, which has a clear savings opportunity scope
  • Support the internal customers in managing and monitoring the contractual performance of strategic suppliers
  • Lead contract negotiations and develop negotiation plans

Reqirements:

  • Project management skills
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Influencing skills for a dispersed stakeholder base
  • Capable of building a strong rapport with stakeholders and suppliers at all levels
  • Proven ability in delivering savings through driving strategic category planning
  • Strong problem solving and analytical expertise
  • Proven experience of sourcing, negotiation, and supplier management in a similar category
