Position Title: Cocoa Sustainability

Job Description:

 The cocoa sustainability analyst supports the global cocoa team by acting as the steward of our cocoa sustainability data, monitoring the implementation of our programs, benchmarking performance, leveraging data science, technology and knowledge management to drive credible progress towards our goals. This position is expected to build collaborative relationships across Mars’ sustainability, sourcing and supplier development teams and external partners.

Responsibilities: 

  • Leads supply chain data collection and analytics ensuring data integrity in line with OECD and emerging ESG standards and demonstrates the value of our data stewardship.
  • Provides key analysis that drives the use robust monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) frameworks and learning agenda.
  • Develops effective tools, technologies, governance, and digital systems in preparation for voluntary and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors the industry landscape to identify opportunities to leverage external data and partnerships.
  • Translates research results and relevant secondary data into insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Uses qualitative, quantitative, multivariate and geographical modelling techniques to identify breakthrough strategies that increase program impact for people and planet.
  • Tracks, assesses and forecasts Cocoa for Generations progress and creates feedback loops to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our sustainability investments.

Reqirements:

  • Experience using data analysis programs (e.g. Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, R) and database management software (e.g. yxdb, SQL)
  • Familiarity with GIS software for data analysis and visualization.
  • Experience building and/or launching new digital products and processes, from conception through to launch engagement with multiple stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with program monitoring and evaluation (M&E) approaches.
  • Proven ability to work independently, a self-starter attitude.
  • Background in working with a multi-cultural team across time zones.
  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate highly complex findings to focus on the critical issues and actionable opportunities.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management principles and approaches.

About Mars

To operate the Course mix/Compound packing lines is a front line role that is the key in delivering safe and efficient (lean) production in our largest volume area of the site and associated equipment in order to Draw back system, Flaking and Coarse Mix /Compound Packing in a timely manner at optimum throughput.
