Position Title: Commercial Manager

Job Description:

We are currently recuirting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our business. You will be supporting the Commercial team and wider business to realise our ambitious growth plans and working on a variety of infrastructure contracts, tendinger and pre-contract, internal reporting and client interfacing. This is a new role therefore you will have the chance to put your stamp on things.

Responsibilities: 

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • Undertaking costs analysis for your contracts.
  • Performing risk and value management and cost control.
  • Advising on procurement strategy.
  • Identifying, analysing, and developing responses to commercial risks.
  • Preparing and analysing costings for tenders.
  • Providing advice on contractual claims;
  • Valuing completed work and arranging payments;
  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations.
  • Preparing and submitting final accounts
  • Working with the operational teams to help predict the timescales of a project, which has a considerable bearing on cost
  • Feasibility and cost planning, procurement advice, tender documentation and post contract services

Reqirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of construction processes, procedures, rules & regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Knowledge of negotiating contractual claims, variations, and preparing management team financial reports.
  • Have an excellent understanding of the processes and procedures used and required by any specific project.
  • Being able to manage disputes, problem solve and resolve conflict.
  • To maintain professionalism including having the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Computer literate and capable of producing accurate and thorough reports and analysis,proficient in the use of MS Office applications
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills – both verbal and written, in order to communicate clearly and confidently.
  • Highly numerate with well-developed excellent data management skills.
  • Attention to detail, coupled with strong analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Excellent organisational, planning and prioritising skills.
