Job Description:

The Davenport Parks and Recreation Community Outreach and Communications AmeriCorps Member will serve alongside the Community Outreach & Experience Manager to provide additional resources to the community through event planning, program development and evaluation, and outreach to local populations, including: youth, adults and special populations.

Responsibilities:

  • Community engagement through photography and videography for at least 5 promotional Parks and Recreation events
  • Development of a grand opening and ribbon cutting event process
  • Provide design and marketing input for bi-annual Parks and Recreation catalog
  • Design ten outreach efforts for the City of Davenport, including flyers, videos, and digital content promoting community programs and events.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education and training in the field of education, recreation, graphic design, marketing, communications or public relations
  • Understanding of best practices recreational programming, social media or marketing.
