Position Title: Data Engineer

Job Description:

You will join the Specialty External Manufacturing team in the Biopharm & Steriles Manufacturing group in Pharma Supply Chain. In this team you will use your knowledge and skills to improve and actively troubleshoot our core systems. You will also be expected to develop, maintain and project manage new digital technologies to improve performance to have a bigger impact for our patients. The Data Engineer will work across the GSK network with PQTS+ teams (Procurement, Quality, Technical and Supply teams) and GSK Tech to accurately define and deliver on digital projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Development of automation tools, such as PowerApps and PowerAutomate, to support reductions in workload across SEM.
  • Influence and support teams to adopt Digital ways of working.
  • Build a network of relationships across the GSK Business and Tech in identifying the right contacts for the facilitation of data access and integration.
  • Keep abreast of emerging trends in data integration and design technologies and work with Information Architects to integrate them into target architectures, information management and data engineering practices as appropriate.
  • Be able to compile, integrate and analyse data from multiple sources to answer business questions.
  • Data Governance – Maintains and administers SEM’s data visualisations/apps and data acquisition processes to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Improve current data systems by implementing and managing cloud-based databases.
  • Automate KPI Data aggregation from multiple information systems.
  • Be curious and passionate about creative thinking and data innovation, enjoy problem solving and have empathy for the problems you are challenged to solve.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in STEM subjects or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with SQL and programmable SQL.
  • Experience with design and implementation of databases objects: Database design and stored procedures.
  • Ability to automate data aggregation from multiple information systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI/ Power Apps/ Power Automate).
  • Strong Experience in Data Ingestion, Transformation and Loading of Data.
  • Experience with design and implementation of databases objects: Database design and stored procedures.
  • Experience with JavaScript and/or C#.
  • Experience in backend developer would be a plus.
