Job Description:

Within the Homeland Security Group, you will join the National Communications Data Service (NCDS). NCDS is accountable for delivering and maintaining centrally provided Communications Data (CD) services to ensure that the CD needed by our user community is available, accessible and usable. Services will continually evolve to ensure we provide operational value against a backdrop of rapid and constant technical and business change.

Responsibilities:

  • Using feedback loops, data analysis, and small experiments to iteratively improve the product, service, and ways of working within the delivery team.
  • Actively managing risks, issues, and dependencies for your delivery team, acting on delivery data and adapting ways of working to mitigate risks.
  • Delivering in line with your team’s capacity and availability, developing an understanding of the relevant frameworks to leverage supplier needs when necessary, and budgeting effectively for resourcing requirements.
  • Translating product roadmaps and features into an achievable delivery plan, considering the people and skills required and predicting milestones based on forecasts where possible.
  • Partnering with a Product Manager to develop communication approaches so you can effectively engage with and influence relevant stakeholders, translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Monitoring trends in team performance and effectiveness, and engaging and motivating the team as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to understand, empathise, negotiate and influence individuals and groups.
  • Knowledge and experience of agile delivery methods, and an ability to assess which methods best fit the type of project/service being delivered.
  • Proven planning and organisational skills.
  • Proven communications skills using a variety of methods (written reports, verbal feedback, presentations etc.), applying the appropriate method to each scenario/audience.
  • Previous experience of working in the delivery of technology or digital based products/projects.
