Position Title: Business Administrator Apprentice

Job Description:

Rather excitingly and owing to recent apprentice success, Datum Electronics are now seeking to recruit an enthusiastic apprentice to join their friendly team as a Business Administration Apprentice where the overall purpose of the role will be to assist the purchasing co-ordinator, input various information into the company’s internal systems and to provide administration support as requested.

Responsibilities:

  • Online Purchasing
  • Arranging items for dispatch to/from suppliers
  • Raise Purchase Orders
  • Chase outstanding Purchase Orders
  • Various data input on internal system
  • Various filing tasks
  • Various ad hoc administrative tasks across different departments
  • Assist in counting and inputting figures for Stock take
  • Checking Sales Orders daily for Customer information & contacting customers for any required information
  • Holiday and sickness cover- Answering the telephones, despatching goods, loading Purchase invoices
  • To maintain a professional and positive image on behalf of the company at all times
  • To attend training sessions as and when invited
  • To share information with colleagues which contributes to the efficiency of the company and work as a team member
  • To observe and comply with the Health & Safety Policy, Equal Opportunities, and other policies in place within Datum Electronics Ltd or clients
  • Adhere to the Company’s values- believe, accountable, doer, achieve and sustainable
  • To carry out any other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the post as required by the Managing Director

Requirements:

  • Good time keeping and communication skills
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • IT Skills
  • Organisational skills
  • Attention to detail, * Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English if required and if not previously achieved GCSE grade 4 or above
  • There is a requirement to complete 20% off the job training, time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role will also be counted
  • Attendance at Isle of Wight College as required
