Job Description:

The City of Seattle is looking for strategically minded creative and critical thinkers to lead and facilitate technology solutions and initiatives designed to exceed the City’s mission and business goals as a Client Solutions Advisor with the Seattle IT Client Engagement Team (CET). The CET engages all City departments as strategic partners to maximize client and resident experiences with City technology through exceptional management, organization, data analysis, and communication skills. Responsibilities:

  • Lead, facilitate, and implement business strategy and initiatives between groups with diverse (and sometimes conflicting) perspectives, skill sets, competencies and resources to find the best technical, process, or personnel solution to accomplish business objectives and goals.
  • Continuously review data and client feedback to proactively identify and lead continuous process improvement initiatives to improve client and resident experiences.
  • Lead and organize operational IT initiatives with technical, communications, and project teams that will meet specific or drive citywide client business needs and change management.
  • Build relationships with City leadership and staff to understand business needs for unique City lines of business and propose creative platform, project, and technology solutions to best meet those needs.
  • Lead, attend, and facilitate relevant coordination and Governance meetings for IT services, projects, and initiatives with business partners.
  • Assist business clients in connecting with the right IT teams to navigate project and operational platforms and processes to best meet business objectives.
  • Lead and develop client-facing communications on upcoming IT initiatives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher, or equivalent experience in information technology, customer service, project management, public policy, data analysis or client/community outreach.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in the information technology, customer service, project management, public policy, data analysis or client/community outreach field.
  • Extensive experience leading and facilitating initiatives involving a diverse set of stakeholders to meet a mission or business conducting stakeholder outreach.
  • Strategic planning, management, and communication skills for short-term and long-term strategic and operational initiatives designed to improve client experiences
  • Exceptional creativity and strategic thinking ability to develop current year and forward-facing strategic and business plans including robust progress reporting and program evaluation
  • Leadership and facilitation skills for collaborative efforts with stakeholders across an organizational chart including leadership and frontline staff
  • Understanding different approaches for conducting stakeholder outreach to ensure the successful implementation of a business initiative
  • Excitement for developing business relationships with a variety of clients to intimately understand their mission objectives and business needs
  • Experience planning and leading short-term and long-term business and/or technology initiatives
  • Process improvement skills using qualitative feedback or quantitative data to identify and implement process improvement initiatives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to tailor and deliver messages to different audiences, including departmental leaders, colleagues, stakeholders, clients, and others.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and other Microsoft Office Tools as well as data visualization tools such as Tableau and Microsoft PowerBI
  • Passion for public and client service.
  • Experience empathizing with your clients to turn client business concerns into actionable next steps
