Position Title: Stakeholder Manager

Job Description:

National Highways currently has an opening for a part time Stakeholder Manager to work 2 days per week, supporting our Regional Investments Programme (RIP) within the Major Projects directorate. We are seeking a conscientious and flexible individual to join our existing stakeholder manager on a job share basis. The role can be worked at home with travel to the Bedford office on an ad hoc basis.

The Stakeholder Manager will support innovative and effective engagement to promote awareness of Regional Infrastructure Programme projects and initiatives and to build and maintain reciprocal partnerships for those that use or are affected by our road networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, supplier-partners and external contacts at all levels 
  • Ability to work using own initiative, whilst referring upwards where necessary
  • A good knowledge of National Highways projects and scheme delivery activities is desirable.
  • Ability to deliver an efficient customer service, being capable of prioritising and delivering tasks to tight deadlines
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement on a wide range of projects/issues
  • Experience working in a project environment

Requirements:

  • Advocate and support the effective delivery of agreed objectives and continuous improvement of communications and engagement activity within RIP
  • Deputise for senior stakeholder manager at meeting with key stakeholders, issue papers for discussion, and follow up on action points.
  • Ensure delivery of a standardised, consistent, effective and efficient engagement programmes.
  • Ensure stakeholder information is accurately captured.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining reciprocal relationships with internal and strategic stakeholders.
  • Providing advice and support to internal project teams to develop stakeholder engagement plans, communications and support with project consultations.
