The Personalization team makes deciding what to play next easier and more enjoyable for every listener. From Daily Mix to Discover Weekly, we’re behind some of Spotify’s most-loved features. We built them by understanding the world of music and podcasts better than anyone else. We ask that our team members be physically located in Central European time or Eastern Standard/Daylight time zones for the purposes of our collaboration hours.

Responsibilities:

• Be part of the building, maintaining, and operating high-quality services at scale together with the teams in the product area
• Advocate for engineering best practices and ensure we have the right technology strategies in place following the development at Spotify and in the industry at large
• Be a technical leader within the team you work with to initiate, influence, and drive technical projects across teams within Spotify.
• Help foster a collaborative and learning culture within and across teams and support the growth of individuals and teams.

Requirements:

• You have lots of experience working with data engineering and a deep understanding of that problem space
• You have lots of experience in designing and building maintainable backend services in Java and love to deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions to the users
• You have experience working in a cloud environment, preferably GCP.
• You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming, and automated testing
• You enjoy sharing knowledge with others and helping other engineers to grow
