Job Description:

The Office of the Sheriff is recruiting to fill a Background Investigator I position within the Administrative Services Bureau – Professional Standards Division. This is a multifaceted administrative assignment, with an emphasis on administrative investigations for the purpose of employment. The individual assigned to this position will be directed to perform background investigations and support the Professional Standards Division.

Responsibilities:

  • Interviewing and documenting statements made by candidates
  • Querying multiple databases for background investigative purposes
  • Reviewing written statements, polygraph results and supporting documents
  • Meeting with candidates during the background process
  • Conducting interviews with personal/work references of candidates
  • Preparing comprehensive background reports for hiring consideration
  • Communicating with management regarding candidates in the background process
