Position Title: CHP Technician

Job Description:

Water Recycling is at the heart of our operations. The key services that we are responsible for are delivered by our in-house, highly skilled workforce. We collect and treat the water that customers have used, returning it to the environment via rivers and coastal outlets. Our network includes 76,000 kilometres of sewers which feed over 1,000 water recycling centres. Responsibilities:

  • Attending to call outs as and when required 
  • Organising contractors employed
  • Ensuring all procurement procedures are adhered to including SAP and records maintained
  • Investigating faults
  • Procuring best value goods and services
  • Carrying out planned and reactive work on CHP’s & SRP’s
  • Reporting back on asset conditions
  • Ensuring the maximum availability of plant and equipment

Requirements:

  • Relevant ONC/BTEC
  • City and Guilds Pts 1 and 2
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in either a mechanical or electrical field or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with multi-disciplinary teams both internally and externally
  • Steam Raising/Boiler Plant Experience or proven experience working with engines and generators
  • Competent user of IT
  • A flexible approach to work as this role includes an element of standby
  • Experience working within a hands-on operational role would be desirable
  • Full driving licence
  • Jenbacher/Cummins/Caterpillar/Deutz Engine experience is desirable
