Position Title: Sustainability Manager

Job Description:
As a responsible business, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) issues are increasingly important to us and will underpin our continued success. We are currently developing our ESG strategy, and now are looking for someone to help shape and deliver it.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver our growth strategy for the benefit of our stakeholders
- Build our business in a sustainable way in the communities we invest in
- Apply our values in the way we operate our business in relation to people, communities, and environment
Requirements:
- Ideally, previous experience of developing and delivering a clearly articulated ESG strategy in a retail environment
- An expert who will advise our Senior Leadership Team on how we as a company should approach ESG in a way keeping with the B&M model
- Someone who will carry out evaluations of departments and operations across the company to determine areas of improvement
- Experience of leading environmental initiatives such as carbon emission reduction, managing waste disposal and conserving energy and water
- Experience from a previous business that operated with a large and diverse supplier base and supply chain
- A self-motivated person who can navigate comfortably across the business to advise, influence and educate in the right way, at the right level in the right tone.
- A “doer” to introduce and manage a variety of initiatives to meet sustainability targets
- An organised, disciplined and confident colleague who can write clear reports and present them at Board level.
- Someone who is comfortable to be flexible as required with regards to location when conducting research, writing reports and maintaining communication with various colleagues inside and outside of B&M.
