Position Title: Training Device Technician

Job Description:

Attack Helicopter Training Services (AHTS) provides AH-64 synthetic training to our MoD customer. AHTS Engineering supports the continuity of training delivery through pro-active and reactive maintenance of training devices and infrastructure

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with repairs and tests, installs, configures, upgrades and assists in the modification of simulators and training components, devices, hardware and software
  • Performs general inspections for pre-operations, post-operations and component handling of training devices, assemblies and components
  • Conducts functional tests of training device systems and monitors device instrumentation and bench mounted indicators
  • Troubleshooting systems, support equipment to isolate faults and repair faulty components
  • Works under limited supervision
  • Develop and enhance existing processes and procedures to drive continuous improvement within AHTS Engineering

Requirements:

  • Good level of experience with electronic/electrical systems.
  • Excellent organization and computing skills.
  • Time served indentured apprenticeship (Simulator/Avionics/Electronics/Engineering)
  • NVQ level 3 Electrical/Electronics/Avionics
  • Proficient with Microsoft office applications.
  • Experience on flight simulators and training equipment.
  • Experience with qualification test guide running and grading (QTG’s).
  • Knowledge of the Military Air Environment and associated governance.
