Job Description:

Contra Costa County is recruiting to establish an eligible list for Building Plan Checker I.The Building Plan Checker I, under close supervision,  is responsible for performing a variety of duties which include processing permit and plan check applications, updating and using the automated permit processing system to issue permits, and performing other related duties as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers at the front counter
  • Answering questions on the permitting process
  • Processing applications and plans for permits
  • Reviewing permit applications for completeness of submittal
  • Processing fee payments and creating receipts
  • Scheduling inspections
