Job Description:
Housing and Human Services of Boulder County is hiring a Child Support Enforcement Specialist. Human Services Legal Technician C is a specialist level classification in the Human Services Legal Technician series. The Human Services Legal Technician C performs complex and specialized technical legal duties in the Department of Human Services Child Support and Investigations and Recovery units.
Responsibilities:
- Interviews clients to obtain complex situational case details regarding specific legal information
- Prepares documents and cases for attorney presentation in court hearings
- Negotiates, issues and executes Administrative Orders, stipulations, judgments and liens (real and personal property)
- Maintains database system with court order and financial payment information
- Negotiates payment arrangements and legal settlements with involved parties
- Monitors payments from obligated parties and follows up with appropriate measures related to payment collection or distribution
- Exhibits specialized judgment in making appropriate case actions.
- Interprets and implements intricate statutory and regulatory compliance actions on State and Federal level policies and procedures
- Provides backup assistance for other co-workers as required
- Performs related work as required
- May be reassigned in emergency situations
Requirements:
- Experience using the Automated Child Support Enforcement System (ACSES)
- Experience negotiating and collecting court-ordered payments
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Experience conducting legal research and preparing legal documents
