Position Title: Chief Immigration Officer

Job Description:

Immigration Enforcement is a professional law enforcement organisation that works with cross-Government partners and drives action across the Border, Immigration and Citizenship system. Immigration Enforcement’s vision is to reduce the size of the illegal population and the harm it causes.

Responsibilities:

  • Consideration of last minute representations, through the Operational Support Certification Unit (OSCU)
  • Entry to detention, through the Detention Gatekeeper (DGK)
  • Changes to detained casework processes, through the Detained Casework Oversight and Improvement Team (DCOIT).
  • Interaction with those in immigration detention, through Detention Engagement Teams (DETs)

Requirements:

  • Adapt to changing priorities and ability to work at pace
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)
  • Be able to use basic Microsoft packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work independently and closely with others to achieve shared goal/targets
  • Professional and customer-focused, ability to understand the needs of vulnerable customers
