Position Title: Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator

Job Description:

Alabama State University, Office of Institutional Effectiveness, invites applications for the position of Institutional Effectiveness Coordinator.  The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating university processes associated with the strategic planning and continuous improvements efforts associated with assessment; institutional compliance; institutional research; and the collection, analysis, and reporting of information and data. The IE Coordinator will assist the institution to maintain compliance with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) and will report directly to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct focus groups and SWOT analysis for university-wide initiatives and programs.
  • Serve on institutional effectiveness related committees (e.g. general education, institutional effectiveness, SACSCOC committees) as needed.
  • Assist with the collection, analysis, and reporting of planning and assessment data
  • Develop workshops and resource material to help faculty and staff improve classroom and program assessment practices.
  • Review accreditation standards and prepare, maintain, and disseminate information and reports related to institutional effectiveness.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking the progress of Title III activity relating to the Office of Research Assessment and Evaluation.
  • Conduct annual audits and review of general education and student learning outcomes and academic, and student services outcomes.
  • Keep current regarding SACSCOC standards as it pertains to institutional planning assessment and evaluation, and with all related software (Live Text, Strategic Planning Online and Sedona Systems) used to demonstrate institutional compliance with standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of service with campus constituents (training and development, consultations, technical support, resources administration, and research); following by producing monthly reports of productivity and progress for Title III reporting purposes.
  • Participate in reviews of departmental policies, processes and procedures.
  • Represent the Office of Institutional Effectiveness on various committees as assigned
  • Work closely with the Director of Institutional Research on Institutional and accreditation data and reporting.
  • Manage and maintain institutional data storage and final report repositories (i.e., assessment reports, unit reviews, faculty credentialing).
  • Provide leadership and support in the continuous quality improvement of institutional data by facilitating university-wide awareness and collaboration among staff responsible for date entry, data retrieval, and reporting
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of institutional effectiveness methods, issues, procedures, and resources; and maintains current knowledge of accreditation standards and expectation.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree from a nationally accredited college/university
  • 2 years related work experience in planning, assessment, evaluation and/or research.
