Position Title: Inclusion Manager

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work with senior colleagues across the business to create and drive an EDI strategy and develop relevant policy, encompassing all protected characteristics and intersectionality. They will also act as the strategic lead of the PLEDIS, the League’s EDI kitemark, and be accountable for its overall content and delivery. Day to day management will be the responsibility of the PLEDIS Manager (reporting to the successful candidate for this post). The Senior EDI Manager will also play a lead role and provide strategic direction for the Premier League’s EDI working group and represent the League at relevant external meetings and in relation to football-wide EDI programmes, e.g. The FA Football Leadership Diversity Code.

Responsibilities:

  • Play a central role in driving the development, implementation and monitoring of the Premier League’s EDI work and cross-departmental strategy
  • Review and recommend project priorities and the development of a cohesive approach incorporating:‑ Disability‑ Gender‑ LGBTQ+‑ Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing‑ Race and Ethnicity
  • Provide operational guidance across the organisation to embed good practice in EDI policy, (including legislative and regulatory developments) and work with the Premier League People Team to champion a culture of equality and inclusion Stakeholder engagement:
  • Work with clubs, partners and stakeholders on EDI issues e.g. The FA, EFL, LMA, PGMOL, broadcast/commercial partners and Government
  • Support processes for regular consultation and communication with key groups (including club advisory groups) Data collection and analysis:
  • Lead on League-wide aggregated EDI data sets & analysis, including annual publication
  • Analyse Club-wide indicative EDI data derived from PLEDIS reporting to inform and direct Premier League plans to promote diversity and inclusion

Requirements:

  • Ability to lead at a strategic level with suitable experience to drive the development and implementation of an organisational EDI strategy
  • Significant experience of working in a related environment with a high level of knowledge of EDI matters, including legislation, policy, practice and regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues, including to offer constructive challenge at senior level
  • Knowledge of the contemporary EDI challenges facing professional football / sport
  • Evidence of a person-centred approach with an understanding of the rights, needs and best interests of under-represented groups
  • Effective communication and advocacy skills and a persuasive, approachable manner when dealing with people at a range of levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and commitment to teamwork
  • Creative thinker, with a flexible, pragmatic approach to problem solving and negotiation
  • Good management skills, including the ability to direct, organise, schedule and budget for a variety of projects and partner matters often at the same time
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • High level of integrity with the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential matters
  • Willingness to travel within England and Wales
