Job Description:

We became a University Hospital in July this year and have an Academic Strategy that sets out how we will grow the number of clinical studies in our portfolio, expand opportunities for patients to become involved in research and develop clinical academic roles across our Group. We have strong partnerships with University of Leicester and University of Northampton and are supported by the East Midlands Clinical Research Network. This is one of 9 new joint roles that will work across our hospital Group; you will work at both Kettering General Hospital and Northampton General Hospital. Responsibilities:

  • Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust are working collaboratively as a formal hospital group known as University Hospitals of Northamptonshire.
  • Together, we are dedicated to achieving excellence in all things.
  • Aligned to the Group Academic Strategy, the post-holder will support the delivery of research across both hospitals, developing the research collaboration and maximising opportunities to increase research and innovation capacity and capability, with the aim of increasing the number of staff and patients participating in high quality research.
  • The Research Support Manager works closely with R&I management team, Principal Investigators, research nurses, research teams, sponsors and Trust to establish and deliver the systems and processes required to support the efficient and timely set up and delivery of clinical trials.

Requirements:

  • You must have appropriate UK professional registration..
  • A friendly, positive, hard working approach to work.
  • To be reliable as you will be an important part of a small team. Your colleagues and customers will depend upon to do your best on each shift and not let the team down.
  • A bit of flexibility when it comes to your shifts. When other members of your team are off enjoying their holidays, we may need you to work slightly different hours to cover for them. Rota’s are planned three weeks in advance and your commitments outside
