Position Title: Performance Analyst

Job Description:

The Performance Analyst is part of the team accountable for delivering performance management services for the Wells enabler organization. The scope of this role includes using technology and systems to deliver financial and non-financial performance measurement, including cost management support (such as budgeting, forecasting, and associated monitoring & analysis), developing inputs to annual plans, analyzing performance management reports to draw important business performance insights, and working with subject matter experts to drive improved business outcomes. Delivers Performance planning & analysis and provides detailed insights on the requests from enablers. Generate insights, and perform analysis, and provide strategic recommendations

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate performance processes and reviews at the asset level with key business stakeholders
  • Work with the business and functional support to develop plans, budgets, forecasts, ensuring input of data into relevant planning and cost management systems to eliminate data gaps and ensure data quality in the submissions
  • Track and monitor actuals against forecasts, highlight variances, and generate associated insights
  • Report on delivery of cost efficiencies and other performance improvement opportunities
  • Prepare materials for and participate in relevant performance review meetings to provide insights and propose recommendations on performance improvement opportunities as they relate to business outcomes
  • Support the wells Performance Senior Manager and the Performance Management Benchmarking & Metrics team to define metrics and key performance indicators
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders for context understanding and iteration on analytical deliverables
  • Perform analysis and generate actionable performance insights on identified business problems, leveraging standard MI products and data analytics
  • Identify trends and collaborate with the business to translate these into business outcomes and action plans
  • Promote the use of new and/or standardized systems and tools to take advantage of available technology to drive efficiency and to generate value
  • Transform existing business performance MI products to ensure high-quality, streamlined delivery of performance information to the business

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Economics/Accounting/Finance/Engineering or related disciplines
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerBI with ability to build and maintain standard reports
  • Analytical and critical thinker; Independent worker
  • Driven self-starter with the ability to handle conflicting priorities with tight timelines
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization
  • Strong background of delivery
  • Strong understanding and experience of Planning and Performance Management
  • /budgeting processes
  • Good business judgment in handling sensitive information
  • Demonstrates BP Values & Behaviors by personal example
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Deep expertise in PowerBi and Power Apps to be able to maintain and improve Wells Intelligence
  • Prior experience in finance processes especially in the areas of budgeting & forecasting, cost monitoring & analysis, and annual planning
  • Mastery of Excel and ability to build and maintain standard reports
  • Proven track record of positive engagement and positive influence skills
  • Strong degree of business acumen
  • Demonstrated understanding of key business drivers (financial and operational) and how they relate to profitability
  • Knowledgeable in production forecasting workflows and systems of record
