Position Title: Finance Associate

Job Description:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Corporate Finance team as a Finance Associate where you will be responsible for executing accounting processes (including period-end transactions and journals) in the core finance systems and validate outputs of direct reports, in order to drive completion of accurate and representative financial statements, in line with the agreed deadlines and quality standards. You’ll produce Establishment Finance reporting to aid the Property Business Partnering team in monitoring business performance and be responsible for accurate reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities: 

  • Submission of cashflow forecast for Rent, Business Rates and Utilities
  • Management Accounting schedules & reporting
  • Prepare period end packs for Argos Utilities
  • Payment Authority Governance (request approvals for funding requests of Rent and Rates expense)
  • Process the following Establishment transactions in line with pre-determined timelines and the financial controls framework.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations raising issues with Financial Accountant
  • Use data from outsource partners on property payment and receipts
  • Review and posting of periodic journals for Argos Utilities, Rent Income & Expense, Client Bank Accounts,
  • Sainsburys Car Parks Operations, Turnover Rent Accrual, etc.

Reqirements:

  • Strong analytical skills, Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Some experience in driving process simplification and improvements and finance reporting
  • Experience in using systems that support financial accounting and reporting processes (e.g. Oracle, Lawson, and other reporting tools)
  • Team player with good presentation and communication skills (both verbal & written)
  • Ability to work collaboratively with key stakeholders (e.g. Property Business Partnering, Financial Control, Financial Planning)
  • Studying towards a professional accounting qualification
  • Organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work fluidly with data and across systems e.g. reporting tools
