Position Title: Radiotherapy Physicist

Job Description

The Radiotherapy Physics team at Barts is looking for a Band 7 Physicist to join the team.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be able to work in all sections of the department, treatment planning, Brachytherapy, QA and Dosimetry.
  • The Improvement Advisor is a key role within the central Improvement Team, providing leadership, management, and Quality Improvement expertise to support delivery of the clinical transformation programmes.
  • We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to work within a service covering seven cardiothoracic theatres, ten cardiac Cath labs supporting electrophysiology and intervention cardiology and the nationally recognized Heart Attack Centre which serves North and East London.
  • These programmes will be innovative and complex and will focus on developing, testing implementing and spreading a range of approaches to drive quality improvement at pace.
  • As a core member of the improvement team, the post holder will contribute to delivery of QI training programmes as well as our wider learning system, and needs to have science of improvement knowledge, project management skills and excellent stakeholder engagement.
  • The post holder will provide expert advice on the application of improvement science across the clinical transformation programmes.

Requirements:

  • The position would be suitable for someone who has recently completed the STP programme with a specialism in Radiotherapy Physics or an existing Band 7 wishing to develop their career in a new department.
  • Post holder is expected to provide proactive and visible leadership.
