Position Title:Lead HVAC Mechanic

Job Description:’

The Anaheim Convention Center (ACC) seeks a well-qualified, seasoned Lead HVAC Mechanic to lead the dedicated HVAC team in the mission to provide unparalleled service in a world class venue.  The Lead HVAC Mechanic will plan, organize, review and participate in the work of HVAC and associated electrical work.  Ideal candidates will possess experience maintaining Central Plant supplied HVAC systems

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comfortable temperature environments in city facilities. Respond to complaints about temperatures.
  • Maintain air conditioning systems, air handlers, filters, blowers, cooling towers, water treatment, and other components of the system.
  • Maintain and operate hermetically sealed chillers; centrifugal, screw etc.
  • Understand the proper operational principles of heavy tonnage systems and associated components.
  • Maintain, analyze, modify and repair digital control systems.
  • Maintain, analyze, modify and repair variable frequency drives and related controls.
  • Install new and modify existing equipment.
  • Maintain hot water systems, gas heating equipment, ovens, refrigeration, ice makers and food service equipment.
  • Repair electrical motors and HVAC systems up to 480 volts after the main disconnect; replace bearings, pump seals and packing.
  • Program and operate the computerized energy management system.
  • Install and maintain environmental controls of all makes and types.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have journey level experience as a HVAC Mechanic.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of principles of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration not limited to; construction, maintenance and repair; principles of water treatment related to heating and cooling systems.
  • Candidates must demonstrate the ability to construct, monitor, maintain, repair and troubleshoot HVAC and Refrigeration systems; read and interpret manuals, electrical schematics and blueprints; perform mathematical calculations and apply reasoning; use proper safety techniques; operate basic computer/PC and programs to include the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Outlook; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
  • Candidates must be in possession of a valid California Driver’s License by date of appointment.
